Golden Globes 2014

"Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland is just in her early 20s, but she has sophisticated taste when it comes to red carpet beauty.
To complement the soft salmon color of her Georges Hobeika gown at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Hyland opted for a boho-style crown braid; bold, statement-making eyebrows; and minimal makeup.
She told E! Network red carpet host Guiliana Rancic that the braid was inspired by a Valentino runway look and that she liked the "youthful appearance" the style projected. Hyland's hair stylist must have created a hybrid of the Valentino spring 2014 and fall 2013 hair looks. Models in the spring show wore studded "crown-esque" headbands, and the models from last fall sported a side-swept schoolgirl-style braid.
Hers was fun -- a relatively directional choice -- and it's certainly refreshing to see more runway-inspired beauty hitting the red carpet.
A more subtle braided style turned up on the head of Amy Adams. The twisted little braids running through the front of her up-do added a romantic edge to her plunging, halter neck crimson gown.
