It could have been creepy, but Madonna and son David in matching Ralph Lauren tuxedos and hats was the best red carpet moment of the night at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The Material Mom sported a cane, a bedazzled half glove and a gold grill, while David looked even fiercer than his mother in his fedora and black-and-white spats. Coming in a close second: Katy Perry, in her ethereal sheet music-patterned Valentino.
For best dressed couple — in the non-mother/son division, that is — John Legend and Chrissy Teigen set the gold standard on the red carpet — for her, literally, in a gold-sequined Johanna Johnson. Legend was nothing to sneeze at in his shawl-collared Gucci tuxedo.
Unlike last year, CBS didn’t issue a wardrobe advisory for the Grammys, but Alicia Keys would have come closest to violating the no-side-boob rule in a sexy Armani halter gown with a low-cut (and extremely wide) neckline. Taylor Swift's short-sleeved metallic Gucci gown was so heavy that Swift joked it felt like a suit of armor, but it looked featherlight on the pop princess. Ciara, expecting her first baby with fiance Future later this year, looked stunning in an elaborately beaded Pucci.
On the men's side, we can't resist the houndstooth and teal velvet tuxes worn by Ryan Lewis and Macklemore, respectively, especially when they're so perfectly tailored.
