If you thought football and fashion have nothing in common, you are about to have a change of heart.
Jersey City Fashion Week, an event founded by Desha Jackson, is underway and is being presented in conjunction with the Give to Live Community Foundation — an organization that raises awareness of charitable causes through social events.
The extravaganza, which opened yesterday, features fashion models and emerging designers from the tri-state area who are bringing a collection of casual and sportswear garments to the runway.
The designer lineup for tonight’s events at Pole Position Raceway include Carl Banks, GIII Sport; Samanta Samuel, Fashionsixty4; LaRae Wilson, LyRae Mychel; Karlene Lindsey, KL Designs; Chris Nonn, Darring USA; and Kids Segment for the first half.
The second half features designers Bernard Moore, Bath House Swim wear; John Cheeks; Cheryl Fischer, Infinite Form Lingerie; Peter Giscombe, Yamon wear; KayUnger NY; “True Ink” A Luxury T- Shirt Brand by Ray Edwards; and a premium American designer’s clothing.
Multiple organizations including BKStyle Producers of Fashion Week Brooklyn, Atlantic City Fashion Week and New Jersey Fashion Week are collaborating to produce the eventgs.
The Super Celebration Football Fashion Show at 6 p.m., today will be held at Pole Position Raceway, 99 Caven Point Road, Jersey City.
Tomorrow, a networking event that includes a Cognac Tasting Soiree will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are limited. The event will be held at VB3 Restaurant and Bar, 475 Washington Blvd,, Jersey City. Paul Jones of JTE Spirits, will present a collection of the world’s finest Cognacs alongside dinner. Hand-rolled cigars also will be offered. Tickets are $85 and are available on eventbrite.
