Grammys fashion: The good, the bad and the hat - Centre Daily Times

From pop divas to movie stars, the celebs came out Sunday night for the 56th annual Grammy Awards. Honoring the best in music, the celebration also provided an opportunity for guests to put their best fashion foot forward as they hit the red carpet. While several soared above the rest, many fell hard. Here are our picks for best and worst dressed of the night, as well as a look at the often overlooked men.

The best:

Chrissy Teigen

Better known as Mrs. John Legend, model Chrissy Teigen looked like pure glamor when she accompanied her Grammy-nominated spouse in a sparkling number by Johanna Johnson.

Miranda Lambert

Putting most of the style competition to shame, the country diva looked like a fashion knockout in a custom red Pamella Roland gown.

Taylor Swift

Swift kept it classy and tasteful as always as she made her way down the red carpet in a stunning chain-mail gown from Gucci.

The worst:

Madonna

Looking like an outfit taken from the Quaker Oats family, Madonna's Ralph Lauren pantsuit was made worse by the addition of a golden mouth grill and a diamond-encrusted glove.

Sara Bareilles

As fans of Bareilles, it pains us to put her on our worst-dressed list. But when your dress looks like a swan when it molts, you really give us no choice.

Paula Patton

One look at Paula Patton and we had only one comment: No person should ever be allowed to wear that much zebra print at one time.

The men:

John Legend

Not to be outdone by his wife, Legend showed that he also knows a thing or two about style thanks to a well-tailored Gucci suit.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

In a sea of standard black suits, the Grammy-winning duo made quite the splash with their houndstooth and green velvet ensembles.

Pharrell Williams

Pharrell's ridiculous brown hat, the most talked-about accessory of the night, looked as if he had stolen it right off a Canadian Mountie.
