Great news for Zappos shoppers: Your online destination just got a little more fashionable, thanks to André Leon Talley.

The former Vogue editor has been tapped by Zappos to be the artistic director of Zappos Couture, the luxury segment of the shopping site. According to Women's Wear Daily, Talley will oversee fashion shoots, videos and trend selection starting next year. As of now, you can pick up high-end brands like Armani, Balmain, Calvin Klein and Burberry on the site, but it seems Zappos has its eye on upping the ante when it comes to its high fashion offerings.

"We're really looking to become the destination in online luxury shopping," Jennifer Sidary, head of couture at Zappos Couture, told WWD. "For us, we still have a lot of brands we're looking to acquire for the site and we hope that with André's partnership it will help us develop relationships with these brands."

Zappos' not-so-secret agenda seems to be a good strategy for the site, as it's managed to master customer service and maintain a pretty laid-back reputation in the public eye, despite being acquired by e-commerce giant Amazon. It's even tapped into the social media market, and the company has worked closely with Pinterest to offer customers lists of the "most pinned" items.

The one area where it's still making a concerted effort? Its fashion cred. During the most recent New York Fashion Week, Zappos partnered with IMG Models for the #ZAPPOSRECHARGE Experience, wherein it collaborated with style world bigwigs like Betsey Johnson and Leandra Medine, aka The Man Repeller.

Luckily, Talley seems like just the man to make this high-fashion element an integral part of Zappos' DNA. He certainly has a lot of free time since leaving Vogue last year and taking up an editor-at-large position for Numéro Russia. There were those reports about Talley getting his own late night talk show, but it seems he's firmly planted in the fashion world for now.

And fortunately, Zappos' shoppers will reap the benefits. Tell us: Would you buy high-end goods on Zappos.com?
