Christopher Kane took home the top prize at the British Fashion Awards Monday night. The 31-year-old designer was presented with the womenswear designer of the year award by his longtime friend and partner Donatella Versace. Kane has been recognized for his help drawing attention to London Fashion Week, where his innovative designs are a highlight.
Burberry, and its lead designer Christopher Bailey, also received high honors, including brand of the year and menswear designer of the year.
Marc Jacobs muse Edie Campbell was named model of the year — an unsurprising accolade for the runway force who was seen in nearly ever major show this past September.
Kate Moss and journalist Suzy Menkes collected BFC Special Recognition awards for their continued contributions to British fashion.
Other honorees included Simone Rocha, Nicholas Kirkwood, Erdem and Harry Styles, the One Direction member who received a style award based on a popular vote from British fans.
