Intel just announced that in the coming year, it's partnering with fashion industry leaders like Barneys, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (the CFDA), and global fashion retailer Opening Ceremony to develop smart wristwear. The company didn't offer any more details on the partnership, but presumably, it's going to help less tech savvy retailers with developing and promoting smart jewelry and accessories. Wearable technology was one of the main themes at Intel's presentation, where it demoed a prototype smartwatch that uses geo-fencing to alert you when you're running late.
