I Am Me Kid's Fashion Show - WWLP 22News

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A fashion show for children showed them more than stylish outfits.

The "I Am Me Kid's Fashion Show" was all about inspiring inner city kids from Springfield to follow their dreams.

It was hosted by the Strong Young Minds Youth Development Program and emceed by DJ "G Money the Prince."

R&B Singer D Woods and former Patriots player Ron Brace, both Springfield natives, were expected to speak to children.

The event was all about showing kids the positive and fun ways they can help the community.

Assistant event coordinator, Joshua Dodds, told 22News, "Just show them that there is something different out here and what the city is. It's not as people think it is."

"It's just self-development, it's just reassurance, it's confidence and it's just something for the kids to take home with them. It's more than a fashion show. It's more of a life lesson," said Teka Jones, coordinator of Strong Young Minds.

This was the third annual fashion show. Several area businesses sponsored the event.
