Let's give credit where credit is due. Other than Chrissy Teigen, how many women at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards could have pulled off the Fyodor Golan bug-against-the-windshield-motif minidress? It was certainly the most arresting outfit on the red carpet, and Teigen, showing off new blunt-cut bangs, wore it well. With husband John Legend, in an equally fashion-forward micro-dotted jacket and matching shirt, they once again scored the best dressed couple on the red carpet.
After Teigen, perhaps the most unusual gown came, surprisingly, from Carrie Underwood , who wore a vibrant chartreuse gown with elaborate silver embroidery from Oriett Domenech. Jennifer Lopez donned a variation of her iconic Versace jungle gown — a low-cut red chiffon gown over red underpants from Donna Karan — and still looked stunning, 14 years later.

Less impressive? Presenter Kelly Rowland was about a millimeter away from a wardrobe malfunction in a revealing bra top paired with a black skirt. "Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland's metallic tweed suit was a bit off-message, and Kendall Jenner's white cut-out bodysuit under black capri pants just looked painful.
