It’s only a few days into New York Fashion Week, but there are already clear trends emerging for Fall 2014. Check them out in the gallery above.
Lace and Laser Cuts
Tadashi Shoji featured both at his show, while Carmen Marc Valvo went for a harder take on the trend with chainmail.
Oxblood
The strong color choice is this season’s take on red, which has been featured in both men’s and women’s collections including Nicholas K, Bespoken, David Hart and Bosideng.
Animal Kingdom
BCBGMAXAZARIA had fun with shearling on everything from coats to panels on tunics. Peter Som embraced leopard prints and feathers while Jason Wu featured fox jackets and fur handbags. Nicholas K’s vaguely “Nanook of the North” headgear was an extreme embrace of the trend.
Mad for Plaid
Carrying over from spring all types of tartan and popping up in presentations from Ernest Alexander to Timo Weiland and Lucio Castro.
