As MTV Style has been reporting, designers showing at New York Fashion Week have been bringing their A-game for their fall 2014 collections, but one show in particular made headlines, courtesy of a certain reality TV star.
On Thursday night, Kendall Jenner showed serious model chops, walking Marc Jacobs' always-anticipated show in NYC. The long-legged beauty gave fans an eyeful, however, and it wasn't the E! star's bleached eyebrows that had people buzzing — it was a flash of skin.
The 18-year-old strutted down the runway in a very sheer V-neck top that exposed her nipples. The look prompted immediate reaction on social media. Famous big sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney were clearly proud: each one posted shots from the show on their Instagram accounts.
"My baby sister killed it today walking in the Marc Jacobs fashion show!!! Kenny you are so dope to me!!! Congrats my baby!!! #NYFW #MarcJacobs #ProudSis," Khloe wrote.
Kendall Jenner And More Guest Models Ruled New York Fashion Week's Fall 2014 Runways
But it wasn't then first time the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star has bared some skin in the name of fashion. Last November, Jenner posed in a see-through mesh top for a photo shoot and the reaction was divided on social media. Judging by the response after the fashion show this week, it seems some fans still aren't comfortable with Jenner's grown-up looks, or moreover how the fashion world works.
Model Kendall Got Major Props
"She's too dope for you 2 understand! Yall would trade places with her in a second!," Khloe wrote in one of many supportive tweets. "The hate is real! Lol bye haters! #ModelLife #Simple"
Many Others Thought It Was No Big Deal
Many Twitter followers made it clear all the fuss was over nothing, with some pointing out the obvious: It's the human body y'all and it's natural.
Hi, Haters
But no matter how spirited the support, a few fans believed firmly that the teen model should be covered up.
As for Kendall, herself, she saw the Marc Jacobs show as a key turning point into high fashion -- and many fashionistas would agree.
"I just recently turned 18, so this [Marc Jacobs show] is my big kickoff to start and grow my career" she told Into the Gloss.
Haters aside, Jenner seems to be off to a great start. On Friday (February 14), Vogue posted pics of the young model in looks from top designer Tory Burch's fall collection.
