One gown was so voluminous it practically ate the stage. Another was designed as a canvas for an endless swirl of digital projections. And one year, she donned no fewer than a dozen different gowns. Carrie Underwood, the co-host of the 2013 Country Music Association Awards Wednesday night, has set a very high bar for herself, sartorially speaking.
There wasn't a single break-out moment of the night, although she did don a couple of gorgeous gowns: She walked the red carpet in a heavily-embellished Ralph & Russo gown (although notably not embellished with an opaque skirt; the sheer beaded and sequined skirt overlaid a micro-mini), and later she changed into a high-spirited pink floral-appliqued gown with a center slit from Christian Siriano.

Among her more curious looks: Spangly pants and a sparkly headband for a Miley Cyrus-Robin Thicke twerking bit, and a very complicated minidress during her opening monologue with co-host Brad Paisley. It appeared to feature golden wings shielding her crotch. It's a choice.
