FROM THE EAST: Chinese fashion will take the stage during Milan World Expo in 2015. On Friday in Shanghai, the China Corporate United Pavillion revealed in the presence of Milan’s Mayor Giuliano Pisapia the launch of “The Fashion of Food,” a project aimed at presenting the best of the Chinese fashion industry in Milan. The program, which will include a number of events and presentations in Italy’s fashion capital, will involve high-end Chinese fashion companies and labels, international brands with a consolidated business in China, along with Chinese emerging designers.
The China Corporate United Pavillion named Stefano Mologni president of “The Fashion of Food.” Previously, Mologni covered the role of country manager at Elite World China and headed the fashion school Istituto Marangoni’s office in Shanghai.
“We will work on a unique and open project able to involve all the major players of both Italian and Chinese fashion industries,” Mologni said. “The goal is to show the best of international Chinese fashion in collaboration with the Italian fashion system during such an important event,” he added, referring to the possibility of establishing partnerships with relevant Italian institutions, including the national Fashion Chamber and Altagamma, the Italian luxury goods association.
“Fashion of Food” organizers will be advised by an international committee with relevant experience in the Italian luxury business, which will include Edwin Fenech, Ferrari chief executive officer Greater China; Lelio Gavazza, Bulgari ceo Greater China; Edoardo Vittucci, Tod’s regional director China; Christian Foddis, Ferragamo managing director Greater China, and Edoardo Melchionni, Ferrari Logistic managing director Mainland China.
