It's just a good thing she likes Beckett.
Zap2it spoke with Fisher (a veteran actress who will soon be starring in "Resurrection" on ABC) about the role. Let's just say it sounds amazing.
Zap2it: Who is your "Castle" character?
Fisher: Matilda King is a fashion editor for a very successful fashion magazine. Her assistant has been killed, so that's why the team has come in and asks her question. And the story unfolds from there. It's a very well-written script! I just saw a rough of it, and I just love how it's put together.
What exactly is the relationship between King and Beckett?
It comes out in the narrative of the show exactly what our past relationship is. She was a model, as you know, back in the day. And that's when we first met. So we do have a history.
What did you know about the fashion industry before going into the role?
I did a little research -- it was very quick. I mean, I got the offer and I went right into wardrobe and photo shoots to make pictures for the wall and things like that. So there wasn't much time to do in-depth research on a person in the fashion industry. But I think I did enough for me. You use your imagination to fill in the blanks. Because you don't want to copy anybody -- I know people are saying something about "The Devil Wears Prada" and all that stuff. But I don't know where that comes from.
I don't know much about the fashion world either, to tell you the truth!
How was it to work on "Castle"?
I had a great time! We had a great director. Most of my scenes were with Stana [Katic], and I got to know her during the lighting setups and stuff. We had some great conversations. And Nathan [Fillion] is just as lovely in person as he is in the character he portrays. I had a really, really good time. The crew was great! I felt very, very welcome. It was a great experience.
I love to work, and being a fan of the show, I thought it would be wonderful to be on a show that I love and respect the actors and production.
"Dressed to Kill" airs Monday (Feb. 3) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
