GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Kendall College of Art and Design's new fashion studies program is being renamed in honor of fashion designer Pamella Roland.
An event is Tuesday in Grand Rapids to dedicate the Pamella Roland DeVos School of Fashion at KCAD, which is part of Ferris State University.
The designer has roots in Grand Rapids and the naming is in honor of a $1 million gift from the Dan and Pamella DeVos Foundation. She says in a statement the program is "is poised to take off and we are thrilled to be participating at the ground level."
The donation aims to help the program grow and raise its national profile. It also will allow KCAD to give it a home in the Woodbridge N. Ferris building in Grand Rapids.
