Detroit fashion show to raise funds for HIV-AIDS awareness - Detroit Free Press

A fashion show featuring Detroit native and designer Jesli Banks will raise funds for awareness in the fight against HIV and AIDs.

Catwalk 20 is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. today at the Detroit Public Library on Woodward Avenue.

Banks' Berkli line of clothing will be featured along with a fashion jewelry presentation by designer Tanya Tkacz, of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Kenya Moore, a cast member on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" reality show, is scheduled to host the event.

Banks received a degree in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Publicist Tiffany Tilley says Banks was born in Detroit and interned in New York with Joanna Mastroianni, Olga Kapustina and Sean John.
