It seems that Kate Moss's post-modelling plan does not immediately involve retirement. Breaking news comes on Wednesday morning that in addition to designing again for Topshop, Moss is to join British Vogue as contributing fashion editor, with her first shoot published in spring. Editor Alexandra Shulman said in a statement: "I am absolutely delighted that Kate is going to work with us in this new role. Her undoubtedly brilliant sense of style, depth of fashion knowledge, and understanding of what makes a wonderful image will be exciting to see used in the pages of British Vogue. I am really looking forward to working with her on ideas."

Along with the rest of the fashion industry we are besides ourselves with excitement – especially because the high-street shoot that Kate styled back in 1994 (glossy mag nerd is an accusation we accept) was pretty exceptional. We don't doubt her styling talent, but we do have questions about Kate's new job. Here are 10:

• Which photographer will she choose do her first shoot with? Mario Testino or Mario Sorrenti? Mert and Marcus?

• Will she choose a model that looks like her?

• What does this mean for the axis of power between Topshop and Vogue? With Kate Phelan's return to Vogue, this means two of the title's fashion editors are also on Sir Philip's payroll.

This week we heard that Christopher Bailey is the new CEO at Burberry, now Kate's in at Vogue. Is there a trend for people once considered fluffy being elevated to power jobs? And if so who's next? Anna Dello Russo as the next Italian PM? Actually, that's not much of a stretch.

• Will she have a cameo in one of the pictures?

• What designers will she promote? Will she be able to move out of her sartorial comfort zone or will she just shoot loads of Saint Laurent? She doesn't seem to have taken off her Hedi Slimane designed tux jacket and duffle bag in recent months.

• Will she do a coffee run? "Skinny flat white, Kate."

• Will she be checking the credits herself on her shoots?

• What's the end game of Kate-as-fashion-ed? Will she become like Carine Roitfeld, global fashion director of Harper's Bazaar, and helicopter fashion edit over the International Vogue titles?

• Will she continue to design for the Carphone Warehouse?
