Our favorite Disney movies taught us a lot of things. "Bambi" taught us the importance of family, "Peter Pan" showed us that you're never too old to have fun and "Pinocchio" hammered home that honesty is the best policy. But what about all the other things we learned from our beloved childhood movies?

We're not sure about you, but our first taste of style was from Walt Disney. Pocahontas totally opened up our minds to the fringe trend and Alice in Wonderland showed us the power of crinoline.

To help us remember all the fashion advice we've learned over the years, we've complied a list of the 11 most important style lessons from our favorite Disney characters:

1. Tights as pants are totally acceptable. It's one of the best lessons we learned from Peter Pan.

2. Pajamas-outside-of-the-house is a real, acceptable trend. Just ask Wendy, John and Michael Darling.

3. You can never go wrong with a consistent style uniform. We might even copy Christopher Robin's preppy look.

4. Be resourceful. Use whatever materials are laying around to DIY your own outfit, including sea shells.

5. Vests can be extremely cool. Aladdin knew what was up.

6. Black is the most slimming color. If it worked for Ursula...

7. Guys can rock deep-Vs without looking like douchebags. But it helps if you're a prince.

8. Don't be afraid of skimpy styles like crop tops. If you've got it like Jasmine, flaunt it.

9. Fur makes everything fabulous. It was the one thing Cruella de Vil got right.

10. A girl needs help getting dressed somtimes. Don't be afraid to ask, just like Cinderella did.

11. A hat can help offset large features. Pinocchio learned that the hard way.

Clearly, Disney characters are influencing more than just the fashion crowd:
