Out of Fashion: Eight Looks That Mattered in 2014 - GQ Magazine

President Obama's Tan Suit: If you look back at photos of Candidate Obama, he barely looks like the same person as today. Candidate Obama wore crisp, tailored suits that suited his wiry frame. Six years later, when it came time to address the nation on the subject of ISIS, the leader of the free world went with a tan suit that looked like cheapo vacation-wear in khaki, the official color of defeat. Republicans blasted him for it, Democrats half-heartedly jumped to his defense. What the mini-controversy really said, though, was that Obama remains an issue, criticized for his choice of suits like an eighteen-year-old on his first job interview. To many, Obama is just an insolent boy, one who, apparently, needs to be told how to dress. If he wants to wear a tan suit, that's your problem—not his.
