Functional fashion with Deafalicious Fashion Show - fox2now.com

(KTVI)- Models will rip the runway to benefit the Deaf Empowerment Awareness Foundation (DEAF), Inc. DEAF, Inc. wants to connect fashion with functionality at the Deafalicious Fashion Benefit. At the show, you will not see the interpreters wearing a lot of plaid or loud-colored shirts. Certain patterns and colors can distract can pull someone’s attention away from sign language. Too much glitter and shine on the fingers can do the same.

While fashion is not a huge conversation topic for deaf and heard of hearing kids, DEAF, Inc. hopes to change that at Deafalicious. Another conversation piece will be Luke Hanning, a Micro-sprint Series car racer who happens to be deaf.
