Centenary College’s Fall Fashion Show, managed by the Fashion Coordination and Promotion class will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1, at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center in Hackettstown.
The event is open to the public.
Members of the community as well as Centenary’s faculty, staff, alumni and students are encouraged to attend.
This year’s fashion show will present some particularly unique projects including hat designs by the AFC class, Hat Making and Creativity in Fashion, History of Costume class and more. An exceptionally special line this semester is Chemo Wear, an Enactus project, presenting customized shirts designed for cancer patients going through chemo therapy. The prototype designs are being test marketed and what makes them unique is the port access for infusions, warmth for comfort and inspirational messages in the pockets.
Other classes which have designed fashion lines that will be featured in the show include Flat Pattern, Concepts and Theory in Design, Independent Designers, and the Fashion Group.
“This semester’s fashion show presents the opportunity for students to show their ability to incorporate fashion into a unique cause,” says Kristen McKitish, Assistant Professor of Fashion Design and Merchandising at Centenary College. “It is always a fun and exciting experience for the community and students of various majors to witness the dedication and creativity that these fashion students put into their creations.”
The cost for advance tickets for student and faculty is $3 with IDs. Tickets for the general public cost $5, and VIP ticket are $12. Those with VIP tickets will have access to front-row seats and will receive goodie bags filled with coupons and other treats. The Fashion Department benefits from the proceeds. Prices at the door will increase to: student and faculty, $5; outside guests, $8.
VIP tickets will not be sold at the door. Show sponsors that provided items for the VIP bags include Mama’s Café Baci, Philly Pretzel Factory, Marley’s Gothan Grill, Turning Heads, Studio Nails and Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant.
