Since the announcement of their candidacy this summer, the ten finalists of the 2014 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund have embarked on a four-month journey of judging panels, runway shows, and studio tours (not to mention having their every move captured by a film crew for an upcoming documentary series on the Ovation network), and, of course, running their businesses as usual. But tonight, all those months of hard work have finally come to their triumphant conclusion: At a dinner tonight in New York City, Paul Andrew has been named the winner of the competition. Andrew is joining the storied ranks of other once up-and-coming American designers including Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, Alexander Wang, and Joseph Altuzarra to receive one of the most coveted prizes in the fashion industry: $300,000 to invest in their label and a yearlong mentorship with an industry veteran to help take their business to the next level. The two runners-up—Eva Zuckerman for Eva Fehren and Ryan Roche —will each receive $100,000 and a mentorship as well.
