Fashion lovers take to Broughton Street for Savannah's Fashion Night - WJCL News

Savannah’s fashion night is the anticipated event of the year, bringing thousands to downtown Savannah for a evening of fashion and entertainment.

“This is the fourth year of fashion night,” said Co-Founder Bree Thomas.

The idea originated from New York’s fashion night, “and they did that for two years and then dropped it all together and then picked it up locally,” said Thomas.

Retailers participating in the 2014 Savannah’s Fashion Night include: Bleubelle Boutique, Charleston Shoe Company, Civvies, Copper Penny, fab’rik, Go Fish Clothing, Half Moon Outfitters, Ivory & Beau, J. Parker Ltd., Kathi Rich, M Liz Designs, Mamie Ruth Designs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Matilda Jane, One Eleven Boutique, Palm Avenue, Paris Market, Pretty & Peach Boutique, Rivers & Glen, Sara Jane Children’s Boutique, Satchel, Sylvester & Co., Terra Cotta, Trunk 13, Veronica’s Closet, Villa Savannah and Zia Boutique.

The premise is to not only to promote fashion, but to support local businesses on Broughton Street.

“We’ve been having so much fun, we’ve been talking about it ever since we’ve heard about it,” said Savannah Charleston Shoe Company Manger Sasha Mastro.

Since 2011, the first Thursday of September has been dedicated to produce a shopping event in hopes of boosting the local economy. This year’s event will once again see an evening of a pedestrian friendly Broughton Street where shoppers, retailers, entertainers and artists will come together for an evening of fun.
