This year, Fashion on the Square celebrated its tenth anniversary with a week of events in culminating at the annual runway finale at the San Francisco Intercontinental Hotel. From the Van Smith referencing plus-size fashion of Sebastian Threadz, lingerie by the newly relaunched Evgenia (formerly Honey Cooler Handmade), and a strong ready- to-wear collection from Cindy Quach, it was a night that encompassed a wide swath of Bay Area fashion. The evening included a presentation of the FOTS Fashion Icon Award to legendary San Francisco clothier Wilkes Bashford and the Heart Award for community giving to Artful Gentleman’s Jake Wall. The ever-modest Bashford thanked the FOTS community while marveling after the show at the army of volunteers enlisted in production of the event.
“It’s a particular honor to receive an award from the fashion community in the Bay Area,” Bashford remarked, “That is what touches me more than anything.”
