Simply Fashion has purchased the retail chain Dots out of bankruptcy and plans to expand the struggling store.

According to a report our sister publication, the Dayton Business Journal, Birmingham-based Simply Fashion acquired Dots after the chain liquidated around 400 stores nationwide.

Simply Fashion CEO Swapnil Shah plans to bring at least 120 stores, along with many former employees, back online by December 2015, the report stated.

“At this point, we have eight Dots stores open, with an additional 25 opening in the next couple of months,” Shah said in a statement.

Dots and Simply Fashion both specialize in women's styles.

Simply Fashion has over 250 stores, and Shah said his company will bring the Dots brand back to its former prominence.

“The initial owner of Dots ran a successful chain,” Shah said. “I think this chain requires an operator that is hands on. We have great merchandizing experience.”
