Indie distributor BOND/360 has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Advanced Style, cut from the cloth of the famed blog and book that offers portraits of senior style mavens shot by street style photographer Ari Seth Cohen. Bond/360 will roll it out theatrically, digitally and on DVD beginning September 26 just after New York Fashion Week. In the docu, Cohen and director Lina Plioplyte dive into the personal lives of New York City’s most fashionable women over 60, who dispel conventional ideas about beauty and aging and prove that with age comes grace, confidence, boldness and flair. “Ari’s photography celebrates women who are confident, creative and inspiring,” said BOND/360’s Marc Schiller. “The transition from photo to film immediately won us over and we can’t wait to share the infectious delight one feels when spending time with Ari and his ladies.”
Bond/360 is the output arm launched by Bond Strategy and Influence last year, and it also has the Quidditch docu Mudbloods coming out in October.
Cohen also produced and Eric J. Feig executive produced. The deal was negotiated by BOND/360 and Andrew Herwitz and Jason Ishikawa of The Film Sales Company along with Attorney Peter Flanigan on behalf of the filmmakers.
